Volunteer With Us — Moving Mountains Trust
Volunteer

Skills. Time. And enough of both to matter.

We welcome skilled volunteers on placements from three months upwards. This page explains who we look for, how the process works, and what to expect.

Who we look for

The people we can actually use.

We are honest with prospective volunteers: two weeks of unskilled labour is rarely worth the airfare. What we can use is qualified people willing to stay long enough to be genuinely useful.

  • Qualified teachers
Maths, science, English especially. Minimum three months.
  • Medical professionals
Primary care, midwifery, paediatrics. Minimum six months.
  • Trades
    Carpenters, electricians, plumbers, welders.
  • Finance mentors
Governance and bookkeeping support for community committees.
  • Communications
Photographers, writers, and documentarians for our annual reporting.

Volunteer FAQs

Questions we hear from applicants.

Three months for most roles. Six months for medical and lead teaching roles — both for safeguarding and to allow relationships to form.

A different kind of trip

Come with skills. Leave with a story you will tell for years.

If you have three months, a professional qualification, and the willingness to learn as much as you teach — we would like to hear from you.
